Tyrannosaurinae is thought to have shared the Tyrannosauridae family with another clade named Aublysodontinae, but it may be a synonym of Tyrannosaurinae. Potential definition of Tyrannosaurines from Aublysodontines are if the generas' fossil range was closer to Tyrannosaurus than to Aublysodon.
Relation with Albertosaurinae and AublysodontinaeEdit
Albertosaurinae is thought to be another subfamily of Tyrannosauridae, although the genera of Albertosaurinae may belong to Tyrannosaurinae.
Some people argue that Albertosaurinae (Currieet al. 2003) may be an independent subfamily because Aublysodon may not be a valid genus, and therefore Aublysodontinae may be equivalent to Tyrannosaurinae.
When Albertosaurinae is considered the other subgroup of Tyrannosauridae next to Tyrannosaurinae
