  • Shanshanosaurinae Olshevsky, 1995[1]

The Tyrannosaurinae were giant carnivore dinosaurs from the Late Cretaceous (77 – 65.5 mya) of various places in North America and Asia.[1] They fed off other large dinosaurs, including Ceratopsians Hadrosauroids and Sauropods.

Tyrannosaurinae is thought to have shared the Tyrannosauridae family with another clade named Aublysodontinae,[2] but it may be a synonym of Tyrannosaurinae.[1] Potential definition of Tyrannosaurines from Aublysodontines are if the generas' fossil range was closer to Tyrannosaurus than to Aublysodon.[2]

Relation with Albertosaurinae and AublysodontinaeEdit

Albertosaurinae is thought to be another subfamily of Tyrannosauridae, although the genera of Albertosaurinae may belong to Tyrannosaurinae.[1][3]

Some people argue that Albertosaurinae (Currie et al. 2003) may be an independent subfamily because Aublysodon may not be a valid genus, and therefore Aublysodontinae may be equivalent to Tyrannosaurinae.[4]

When Albertosaurinae is considered the other subgroup of Tyrannosauridae next to Tyrannosaurinae
